What’s holding back NAC?

We’ve all been watching some of the pioneering NAC vendors domino down over the past several months. The Lockdown tumble has some questioning the industry again, and as Alan notes, these happenings fuel the fires of NAC’s nay-sayers. (In my opinion, it’s like throwing metal onto open flame… may affect the metal, won’t feed the flame, makes for great steaks). (more…)

Prelude…

Many of you contacted me over the past weeks to wish me a happy birthday. My 3/6 birth date could evidently be found on Plaxo, Facebook and a variety of my other online Black Holes. I was surprised and elated to receive many e-cards and even some ‘real’ ones via mail. I even received a bottle of California wine from one of my favourite product managers :) (more…)

Where Arst Thou Network World?

Oh where, oh where has my Network World goneMIA.jpg
Oh where, oh where can it be
With its advertising short and its articles long
Oh where, oh where can it be?

*Sigh* Yet again, my NW has gone MIA from home delivery (which is where I get the stuff I really want to read). Last time it took weeks to re-establish delivery, not sure what is happening here.

But - alas- I am forced to resort to thievery, lifting unclaimed copies from the office before their rightful owners can get them. My sticky finger solution is difficult to execute while traveling, so I’m working on other plots to reclaim my delivery…

Pieces of Me into the Web 2.0 Black Hole

In this instance, I refer to black hole, not in the sense of an empty place where things disappear, but in terms of the genuine astrophysical phenomenon of the black hole….

A place that sucks everything in with such speed that it warps time and space… and as matter reaches increasing speeds, approaching speed of light… every subatomic particle gets pulled and stretched beyond all recognition. Until the only thing that’s left is an infinitely massive object in space… filled with tiny pieces of all it has consumed.

That kind of black hole… I was once ONE person, one personality, one entity in a non-virtual world. Then pieces of me were on Facebook… and Myspace… in several photo sites… and some more on LinkedIn… a bit into my customer newsletters… plus Plaxo… even more scattered in this blog… and as of last night… I sold my soul to Twitter.

And now, these little pieces of me have been sucked into cyberspace, intermingled and compressed with the other millions of social networkers and bloggers in this universe. I fear some pieces of me are to be abandoned in the ether, never to be reclaimed.

And so I wonder- is this it? Has the online world pulled us into a gazillion little pieces, never to be reunited… or will our web worlds collide some day, returning our pieces to a single mass and making us whole yet again…

Save the Ta-Ta’s

Whilst picking up a well-deserved Iced Honey Latte at Starbucks today, I passed by a cute Mercedes sporting a Breast Cancer Awareness magnet, with ‘Save the Ta-Ta’s’ splashed prominately over top the traditional pink ribbon.

I really wanted to take a quick photo, but it was parked in front of a tanning salon with the doors open, and I was scared the owner might think I was carjacking her… That’s all I needed… for the chick to come running out and mace me in order to save her Mercedes (and her Ta Tas ribbon).

So, I didn’t take the photo, but I checked online and found the Ta-Ta’s site. Yes, it’s trade-marked.

Here it is… Save the Ta-Tas. You can find this, and other fun Ta-Ta-wear online at www.savethetatas.com
